Border Control Symposium and Exhibition

Borders and boundaries, both tangible and ephemeral, are closely tied to the ways in which humanity has always made sense of the world, and of its place in it. The New Media Caucus brought together artists and scholars to critically engage relevant topics. Threads, a thematically related sound-walk was presented as one of the participatory artist-led walks, September 19, 2019.

Art Street

A temporary, multi-disciplinary arts project in Sacramento, CA, by M5Arts. In and around a warehouse at 300 1st Avenue, owned by The Mill at Broadway. The exhibit spanned over 65,000 SF of indoor and outdoor space.

Artists featured were both local and from around the globe, February 3-25, 2017.

Art Street

The at Bronx Art Space presents approaches employed by artists exploring artificial xyz space, the non-referenced synthetic image or object, and the specific qualities of the virtual camera that records it. The artists all use 3D software to create work ranging from the still image to animation and interactive installation, November-December, 2016.

A solo show of Augmented Reality (AR) works for Another Year in LA Gallery, May 2015. The works combine physical and virtual modes of creation, and though a free AR app, are experienced on the viewer's mobile device (image below: Merging Spaces 4, an augmented reality sculpture).

Broadway Augmented

A National Endowment for the Arts grant-funded augmented reality virtual public art project where site-specific virtual works were placed along the Broadway Corridor, Sacramento. The project launched in fall 2014. Artists: Rachel Clarke, Ben Hunt, Gioia Fonda, Jose Carlos Casado, Joseph Delappe, Malcom Cochran, Mark Emerson, Michael Rees, Rebecca Krinke, Sabrina Ratte and Chris Manzione.

The New Romantics Catalog

Catalog for The New Romantics, an exhibition at Eyebeam, NY April – May 2014, exploring the ways in which contemporary artists using digital media engage the body, representations of nature, poetic irony, and expressions of individuality as originally expressed in 19th Century Romanticism.

The New Romantics full color illustrated catalog - edited by Rachel Clarke, Nicolas O’Brien and Claudia Hart - features the artists in the exhibition, interviews conducted with the artists, and essays by prominent writers. It is produced in conjunction with the seditons New Romantics special collection.
