Form Constants
Form Constants, 2019, augmented reality drawings
Form Constants are augmented-reality (AR) drawings, referencing geometric patterns that are created by the visual nervous system, beyond the eyeball. They happen due to stress, tiredness, headaches, or altered states of consciousness such as meditation, drugs, or psychosis. It’s a visual phenomenon all humans share, and is generally made up of lines, dots, and filigree arranged in brilliantly colored patterns. In his book, Alternative Realities, Leonard George suggests that the first artworks created by homo sapiens originated from experiencing these visual patterns. In these works I'm using the AR experience to make this invisible phenomena visible, revealing the "mind’s eye."
