Avatar
Avatar (video) explores our relationship with digital technologies. In this video/performance the artist is bathed in animated projected light, moving over the surface of the body and transforming it into an animated landscape of circuits and networks. The piece moves from dream-like, to frenetic, then ultimately to an ethereal state where the artist is completely immersed and transformed by the digital environment.

Machine Inside
Quictime VR (created by Rachel Clarke and Sam Parsons) explores the intertwined relationships that exist between man and machine. The piece unfolds in scenes and the viewer navigates through the QuickTime VR by finding hotspots within each scene that lead to other locations within the piece. We follow the human figure (or avatar) deeper into cyberspace locations where the figure is increasingly immersed in the machine environment. As it develops closer relationships with its technological surroundings, the lines are gradually blurred between human and machine identity.
